My Plan
Extreme poverty & hunger- My plan of action concerning poverty and disease would be to try and produce more products that can be sold to other countries to make profit and bring it out of poverty as well as produce more food products to be able to sell and eat. Extreme poverty plays off of HIV/AIDS and other disease. When someone in the family is sick with HIV/AIDS they aren't going to be able to make money for the family which in turn drives the country slowly into poverty.
HIV/AIDS- My plan of action to help prevent HIV/AIDS is to make sure all people in Ethiopia are taught about the disease. There are already many organizations like the WWO-AHF Family Health Center, that offers HIV testing, safer sex education, and antiretroviral treatment to 2,000 people every month. Projects that inform young people about the severity of HIV/AIDS are very important in preventing further spread of HIV/AIDS. If young people are educated, then they will know what to do and what not to do.
High Population- My plan of action in regards to the high population problem is to better better prepare Ethiopian teens and young adults about what it really looks like to have a family. Many Ethiopians marry young and have children young as well, they should be reminded to do some family planning before hand asking themselves questions like, "Are we going to be able to support children right now?", "Is there enough income for the children to be able to go to school and not have to work?".
Safe Drinking Water- My plan of action for making more clean drinking water available to Ethiopians is to try support organizations like run for water by participating in fundraising events. I would like to see wells in Ethiopia so that they women and children don't have to walk for hours everyday just to get water for their families that may be contaminated.
